Dental Crown
A dental crown is a tooth-shaped cap placed over a damaged or weakened tooth to restore its shape, size, strength, and appearance, manufactured by dental laboratories from various materials.
Dental crowns are the most common restorations produced by dental laboratories. They completely cover the visible portion of a tooth above the gum line.
**Types of dental crowns:** - **Full zirconia** — strongest, for posterior teeth - **Porcelain-fused-to-zirconia (PFZ)** — strength + aesthetics - **Porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM)** — traditional option - **Full ceramic (e-max)** — best aesthetics for anterior teeth - **Metal crowns** — highest strength, used for molars - **PMMA temporary** — provisional crowns during treatment
